Acupuncture menopause: acupuncture can help to reduce the intensity or frequency of your complaints.

Women and the menopause

Menopause in women is a natural transition. The endocrine system then changes, the production of the hormones progesterone and estrogen decreases. This takes place in the ovaries. Menopause usually begins between the ages of 45 and 55. But this process can start much earlier, for example from the age of 35. If you have not had a period for a year, that moment is called menopause. So you can only determine that afterwards. You will not be able to get any more children.

Andropause: men in transition

Also men come into a natural transition, which is associated with the decrease in the production of the male hormone tostesterone at the age of 40. This is a natural process and is called andropause. Testosterone is made 95% in the testes (testes). Testosterone affects the brain, immune system, erection strength, libido, bones, blood, muscles.
In short, it affects the entire body of the man.

Prostate enlargement; another phenomenon in men during andropause

In addition to the decrease in testosterone production, the prostate starts to grow from the age of 45. This is also a normal aging process. In almost 30% of men, the prostate has become so large that they get complaints. The prostate is a gland that surrounds the urethra and produces prostatic fluid. This fluid keeps the sperm cells alive during ejaculation.
